TLC SLP Report 4.15.09
Report from Jen R.: Today the new SLP, Laurie Wallace, joined our session. Lili was happy to see her familiar face as she knows her from previous therapy work.
Lili correctly identified 4/6 of the Ling sounds using listening only. She confused “ssss” and “shhh” but was able to imitate correctly once reminded. Lili correctly identified and matched the compound word chart for 6/6 words.
Next Lili counted the numbers on the calendar using the pointer. She was able to pronounce #1-12 with good intelligibility. For # 14-20 she repeated after me.
We sang: Days of the Week, Baa, Baa Black Sheep, ABCs and Twinkle Twinkle. Lili enjoyed singing along and would repeat phrases happily when requested by the SLP.
Last, Lili played with the Farm animal figures and made houses for them to live in out of small, wooden, blocks. Lili was able to identify and classify small, med and large houses. Lili made many good approximations of words such as Mommy, baby, daddy, cow, bunny and duck. When Lili is producing words not yet said by the SLP, she often speaks softly and makes more vague approximations of the words. Once given a model, Lili’s intelligibility increases significantly and is able to make excellent self corrections.
