TLC SLP Report Dec 2009

Update from Laurie, Li-Li’s SLP at TLC:

Wow! Li-Li is doing great!!!  She is using sentences of 4-5 words pretty consistently now.  I heard these sentences recently: “Look, I ha(ve) brown shoes” “LI-Li has purple glasses (gwassi)” “Daddy has black glasses”.

In structured activities, she can produce the /f/ sound in all positions of words.  I have even heard accurate production of the /l/ sound but only once or twice.  It seems to be changing now which tells me that she will be able to say that correctly soon.  We’re continuing to work on vocabulary-this month has been focused on action words in spoken English.  Li-Li has also been enjoying phonemic awareness activities like identifying the letters of the alphabet and learning the sound that each letter makes.  She is such a delight to work with!  Hope you all had a nice Thanksgiving.  We will probably start on Winter vocabulary soon but it just doesn’t feel appropriate yet given the 60 degree highs yesterday!!  See you soon.  Laurie
