Li-Li and Sammi at the gym

Sammi and Li-Li have just started gymnastics together under Melinda’s instruction! I should have had my iphone camera going throughout — missed the swinging from ropes into the pit, … Read more »

Word recognition at 88%

Submitted by Grendel on November 11, 2009 – 9:18 pm2 Comments

One particular point I noted in Li-Li’s most recent audiological testing: word recognition at 88% with both processors on (booth testing in quiet at 48 db), and with her newest (left) processor alone.  We’ve seen a great improvement in real life, but it seems that with bilateral CIs we’ve also seen a pretty nice gain in the booth, dropping her threshold to 15-20 db.

This is my audiogram part of my blog. I talk alot about stem cells in my blog. Feel free to comment in my blog.

I am happy for Li-Li’s way above average CI results. Average is around 30db. Her hearing loss of 80-95 doesn’t sound *that* bad, but given her excellent CI, it is better than any HA can offer. I have posted a long reply to you on alldeaf.

I love your website! I know nothing about web design, but I think it’s really cool. It’s great that Li-Li is doing so well, and it sounds like she’s a fan of music too. She is one adorable little girl :) I’m curious, are you going to be upgrading her Freedoms to the Nucleus 5 anytime soon? I’m trying to get the opinions of other users, and what they’re going to do. At first it sounded great, (sleek, small, remote-what’s not to like?) but I feel like the more I read, the worse it sounds. I’m probably going to upgrade at least one ear for medical reaosns, but I’m curious if you think the cons outweigh the pros?
