AKA “Candy,” as she has chosen as her Western name. Sweet as her name, and so very good at what she does: herding a bunch of jet-lagged anxious, Americans with little to no language skills through the frigid crowds of Beijing — in and out of restaurants, jade and pearl factories, and up and down the Great Wall, Summer Palace corridors while schooling us on the significance of Tian’ an men Square, the People’s perspective of the one-child policy, economics and demographic breakdown of China’s many nationalities — and communicating with our guides and officials in Nanchang and Guangzhou to arrange for the all-important baby meet-up. She’s with us in the hotel, and will lead us throughout all 3 cities (Beijing, Nanchang, and Guangzhou).
She’s absolutely lovely, poised and knowledgable — and has given us the scoop on what the baby hand-off will really be like!
