‘Twas the night before …

Rumor has it that referrals were mailed early this week and expected to arrive tomorrow! My social worker and China Program Coordinator at the agency say they have no knowledge of this as of this afternoon, but they’ll keep an eye out!

Referrals tell us about the little one(s) to which we’ve been matched (a complicated process that factors in bone structure, Chinese Zodiac, and interests): the “package” includes photographs, medical and behavioral info, province of orphanage or foster family and date of birth.

Once we receive referrals and accept the wee one (or ones, as we’ve requested twins!!!), we expect another month to pass before getting travel arrangements (the packed schedule of administrative and medical appointments in the local province and at the US Consulate in Guangzhou and flight dates), and then 2-4 weeks from that point we (actually, I, as it appears that John will stay home) fly to China for two weeks to get the wee one(s).
