Very first baby outfits! Emm, first THIS year

Mmm, I have to ‘fess up to a sneaky little habit I’ve had of buying a little something wherever I’ve worked throughout the last few years for the wee-one-to-be. So, I’ve tucked away odds and ends from Munich, Stockholm, Paris, Belgium, the Netherlands, Luxembourg, London, Rome, Toronto.

I know — Luxembourg! — not work — that was while visiting Anja’s lovely little Anouk and Anais for the weekend. Now, that stock has eroded a bit — there’ve been a few occasions where I’ve been strapped for a Christening gift or what have you, and have dipped into the stash, rationalizing it with “oh, I’ll be in Florence or Copenhagen within the next month or so, for sure!” Right, but then I left the old job and that summer in Munich and fall in Sydney was no longer. Hey, I get to visit Newton every Friday and Cambridge on Thursdays!

So, upon reviewing the stash, I’ve realized that although I have no clue when I’ll see her little face, and whether she will be the size of a 3 month old or an 18 month old, I need to feather the nest with baby clothes. So, I’ve settled on a range of 12 - 24 months, stocked up on Dreft and little hangers, and now have a lovely collection of adorable outfits in hand. Now I just need to wrap the kitchen table, 5 fireplaces, Grendel and Gryphon in safety bumpers, and we’re on target. No, actually, we’re on eBay!

UPDATE: Having just finished ironing 50 little baby outfits, I feel like I’ve been through this: EXTREME IRONING.
